Job Summary:

The post holder will drive a range of vehicles within Waste & Cleansing Services and to complete a range of vehicle checks as required. To work as team leader ensuring the collection and removal of recyclables, household, industrial and commercial waste, including bulky items from various locations. Carry out street cleaning and skip emptying duties throughout the Borough. The post holder will also provide flexible and effective cover across a range of Council services delivered by the Waste and Cleansing Section.

Please note
  • There is 1 permanent full time post available working 36 hours per week, Wednesday to Saturday 6.30 am to 4.00 pm
  • This post will be predominantly driving a mechanical road sweeper
  • Based in Balloo Environmental Resource Centre the successful candidate will work throughout the Borough
  • A reserve list may be kept from this recruitment exercise for other similar posts in Borough Cleansing Services
  • Applicants must be available to work outside normal working hours
  • Appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of a medical questionnaire including a pre-employment Drugs and Alcohol Screening
