Catering Assistant

Suitable Catering Assistant must have six months relevant work experience in contract catering or high-volume hospitality environment and be able to provide work references. We have ongoing Catering Assistant positions in prime units including some of the largest events all throughout Connacht.

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 6 months’ experience working in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English, with experience in food preparation, salad bar setup and counter displays.
• Experience with cleaning systems, Barista duties, cash handling and operating a till.
• Ability to adapt to new environments, work efficiently under pressure and follow HACCP procedures.
• Must have two working references, a valid work permit and PPS Number, with flexibility to work Monday–Friday daytime hours and travel to various locations.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare catering areas for breakfast and lunch service.
• Set up and maintain salad bars, deli bars and canteen areas to a high standard.
• Assist with food preparation, presentation and general catering duties.
• Complete Barista duties when required and maintain high standards of service and cleanliness.
• Follow all HACCP procedures and work efficiently as part of the catering team while remaining calm under pressure.
