Chief Executive Officer – Central Remedial Clinic

Following the promotion of our current CEO to a new role within the HSE, the Board of the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) would like to recruit a new CEO to lead the next stage of our service journey.

What we do

As the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC), headquartered in Clontarf, Dublin approaches its 75th year, we continue to evolve as a leading provider of services for children and adults with complex disabilities, in partnership with the HSE and the wider disability sector. We also provide highly specialist national services. Guided by an ethos of courage, collaboration, and continuous improvement, we place people with disabilities at the heart of everything we do.

Our five children’s disability network teams (CDNTs) work with parents and families to make a positive difference to their lives. We offer specific medical and clinical services for children, young people and adults with complex disabilities through the life cycle from birth to adulthood.

Our Enhanced Complex Care pathways deliver specialist, multidisciplinary assessments, and interventions nationally for children and adults with complex disabilities where specific needs require expertise not solely available through local services. Our education and research programmes aim to develop and share expertise, to strengthen competencies in local teams and beyond.

Our adult services are based in the Dublin region, across a number of hubs, and are built around individualised and group supports, as well as education and work preparation.

We are the trustees for two special schools in Clontarf and Clondalkin which are responsible for the education of 161 children with physical and other complex disabilities.

Our workforce comprises 400 employees and approximately 100 volunteers.

Our strategy

In 2024, we set out to design an ambitious roadmap to deliver on our Purpose, and we are now one year into our transformation journey as set out in our 2025 – 2030 plan. CRC 5-Year Strategy Plan | Central Remedial Clinic.

As part of this roadmap we are the first Irish healthcare provider to partner with the Virginia Mason Institute, which is driving our transformation into a values-driven organisation, embedding Lean Healthcare principles and capabilities to ensure equitable access to the right services at the right time. This transformative plan is already delivering significant improvements for our clients and families, and is creating new opportunities for our people as we create more modern ways of working. We have also implemented a Kaizen approach to operational improvements, together with ambitious plans regarding branding, fund raising and research. Building on these achievements, and with strengthened foundations and a clear vision, we are poised to deliver lasting impact for the communities we serve.

Against this backdrop, the role of CEO presents a rare opportunity to guide the CRC through the next pivotal stage of its journey — inspiring our people, shaping our future, and driving lasting impact for those we serve.

Supported by the Board, the successful candidate will:

  • Drive the implementation of the 2025–2030 strategic priorities, ensuring delivery of our service to our clients and their families through modern pathways of excellence
  • Inspire and lead the senior leadership team and all employees to build on CRC’s values-driven culture
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement in research, education and service delivery
  • Strengthen partnerships and stakeholder relationships to enhance CRC’s reach and impact
  • Lead a service, quality and risk framework that reflects the organisation’s dual role as a Section 38 Provider, as set out by the Health Act 2004, and as a registered Charity
  • Execute a robust financial management framework as part of our service arrangement commitments, aligning financial management to improve access.

We are seeking a strategic leader with:

  • A track record of leading transformation and motivating and inspiring diverse teams to achieve ambitious goals
  • An in-depth understanding of the disability sector and a commitment to quality improvement and service delivery
  • A genuine passion for and belief in the purpose and ambition of the CRC as outlined in our strategy document CRC 5-Year Strategy Plan | Central Remedial Clinic
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance financial sustainability with service delivery.

PLEASE NOTE - The CRC will consider applications to facilitate a secondment from relevant public sector organisations.
