Primary Care Services
X1 Permanent, whole time vacancy available in Dun Laoghaire Primary Care Centre, Co Dublin (Care Group 6)
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for each care group outlined below for Occupational Therapist, Senior from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
This panel will be formed for IHA Dublin South & Wicklow only and will remain active for one year only. This IHA covers the geographical areas of Dublin South East Dublin South and Wicklow.
Details of the Service:
The person appointed to this post will work as an Occupational Therapist, Senior in their designated clinical area, taking a lead role in the delivery of a quality occupational therapy service.
Occupational Therapist, Senior Care Group
· Care Group 5 (Primary & Social Care) = Paediatrics (Primary & Social Care)
· Care Group 6 (Primary & Social Care) = Adult and Older Persons (Primary Care)
· Care Group 7 (Primary Care) = Adult and Older Persons including Residential Care (Social Care)

Purpose of the Post:
To work in conjunction with other team members and other service providers in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the service user group and the objectives of the organisation. The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high quality Occupational Therapy Service and will carry out clinical and educational duties as required for clients across Dublin South and Wicklow region.
Primary Care
The Senior Occupational Therapist will be responsible for the provision of a high quality Occupational Therapy service in accordance with standards of professional practice using evidence Based Occupational Therapy Practice (EBOTP)
The Senior Occupational Therapist will work with the Occupational Therapist Manager in ensuring the co-ordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred occupational Therapy service within the designated clinical area within their geographical area (eg working in Wicklow or working in Dublin South).
The Senior Occupational Therapist will develop and maintain high standards of clinical practice within this area through clinical evaluation, audit and research opportunities.
The Senior Occupational Therapist will engage actively in clinical and educational duties as required and will evaluate the above described service.
The Senior Occupational Therapist will contribute to a structured process for education of senior and staff grade colleagues, undergraduates and other disciplines.
