Chef I
Candidates must have at the latest date of application: -
1. Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
(a) Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Have obtained a Professional Cookery award at minimum Level 6 on National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or equivalent maintained by the Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
OR
(ii) Have obtained an equivalent qualification to (i) from another jurisdiction.
OR
(iii) Be currently employed as a Chef in the Irish Health Service.
AND
(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and professional ability, for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Post Specific Requirements
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience as relevant to the role.
- Have successfully undertaken or be willing to undertake the following or equivalent approved training programmes:
- Management of Food Hygiene Course.
- Health and Safety in Health Care setting course.
- Introductory Course in Supervision.
- Course in Food Cost Control.
- Preliminary Hygiene Course, as recommended by the Environmental Health Officer.
(Please note if you have not undertaken this training, you will be required to successfully complete this training on taking up the post. Training will be provided).
