Chief Finance Officer
Purpose and Scope of the Role
The purpose of this post is to provide strong strategic, operational & professional leadership to CHI covering all aspects of finance and procurement.
Reporting to the Chief Executive (CEO), the Chief Finance Officer is a key member of the Executive Management Team and will provide Commercial and Financial expertise and advice to the Board, CEO and senior management to ensure the immediate and long-term financial viability of the organisation.
The Chief Finance Officer works closely with the CEO by contributing to the development of the organisation’s strategy across all areas, challenging assumptions, and decision-making as appropriate, and providing financial/commercial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers. Responsible for ensuring that regulatory requirements are met, and act as key interface with both internal and external audit.
Provide financial and strategic leadership for the new children’s hospital programme, working closely with the CHI Chief Transformation Officer in relation to business cases, commissioning budgets, workforce plans etc.
Lead the transformation of the Finance and Procurement functions to ensure they fully optimise the digital investment in the new Children’s Hospital.
Essential Criteria:
- A minimum level 8 NFQ (or international equivalent) qualification in Finance
- Hold membership of a recognised or prescribed accountancy body such as ACCA, CPA, ACMA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years’ post graduate experience in a relevant role
- Minimum of 7 Years’ experience in senior or executive management in health or social care organisations or in other public or private sector large complex organisation, the role holder will be attuned to the demands of regulation and of public scrutiny and will bring a demonstrable track record of high level achievement against challenging performance targets.
