Chief Pharmacy Information Officer (CPIO)
Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of The Chief Pharmacy Information Officer (CPIO) is to act as the senior pharmacy professional and strategic lead for digital transformation of CHI services and informatics involving medicines. This role ensures the Digital Pharmacy Strategy aligns with CHI business plans and the overarching CHI Digital Health Strategy. The post holder will provide expert advice, leadership, and management to enable strategic transformation, ensuring medicines processes are supported by CHI wide digital systems.
The CPIO will work closely with the Pharmacist Executive Manager (PEM), Chief Information Officer (CIO), EHR Project Director, Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO). The CPIO will assist the EHR project team and application leads to support the design, build, implementation and ongoing development of the EHR. They will represent the Pharmacist Executive Manager within the Digital Health Informatics leadership team providing a strong pharmacy voice to deliver measurable benefits.
Essential Criteria:
· Registered, or eligible for registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI).
· A minimum of 5 years’post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy practice
· Possess the requisite clinical, leadership, managerial and administrative knowledge, skills and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
· Have considerable experience in the area of Health Informatics.
· Experience in operations,change management , dispensary and clinical pharmacy
· Capacity to perform under pressure, to meet time constraints and determine work priorities
· Well-developed written and oral communication skills
· Well-developed staff supervision and interpersonal skills
· Sound knowledge and understanding of all relevant aspects of hospital pharmacy, in particular, a demonstrated ability to practice in accordance with the PSI Regulations and Guidelines
· A commitment to continuous quality improvement process and ongoing change
· A commitment to continuing education and the ability to keep abreast of current knowledge and accepted practices
· Knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of this post.
