Salary range: €14,414.40 per annum; paid monthly
Experience: FETAC Level 5 in Childcare or Early Years Educator is essential

The Role:
We are currently looking to recruit a Childcare Worker (Permanent Part Time; 18 hours per week over 3 days) to join our Children & Family team in Midlands PVC - Portlaoise, Co. Laois. The childcare worker will be responsible for the promotion, creation and maintenance of a welcoming and caring environment and to a high standard of childcare within the Centre. They will be familiar with and work in accordance with relevant legislation and within the employers’ policies and procedures. Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required
Education
• Minimum FETAC Level 5 in Childcare or Early Years Educator is essential
Experience
• 1 year of experience in relevant childcare role is essential.
• Good Experience of working with this age group in general.
• Experience of working in the community or voluntary sector would be an advantage.
Skills
• Candidate must have a good ability to work on his/her own initiative.
• Display enthusiasm and an interest in supporting and empowering young children and their families.
• A good listener, calm and understanding.
• An understanding and an interest in community development and social inclusion issues.
Knowledge
• Knowledge of underlying principles in early years education.
• Knowledge of the Society and of its mission and values.
• Knowledge of needs and issues of the poor and disadvantaged.
