There is currently one permanent & full time vacancy in Office of the IHA Manager, Kildare and West Wicklow.

The successful candidate may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity/region as the need arises.

Purpose of Post:

The Grade VII Senior Executive Officer will be responsible for supporting the function of the Office of the IHA Manager by:

· Ensuring efficient and effective day to day operational management of the Office including line management functions and managing workflow assignment.

· Coordinating, tracking, and supporting the efficient completion of actions assigned.

· Working collaboratively to progress actions, resolve issues, and consolidate information from various sources into actionable summaries to support informed decision making, and escalate issues appropriately as required.

In addition to the above this post will be key in supporting the Business Manager and the IHA Manager in meeting their objectives set out in the HSE’s Corporate and National Service Plans

Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications and / or Experience:

Candidates must have at the latest date of application: -

  • Significant experience of operating at a senior executive level, within a corporate environment, managing and/or delivering a service or programme of work in a complex change environment, including line management functions, managing workflow assignment, and tracking actions to completion as relevant to the role.
  • Experience of managing and working collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders, e.g. Senior & National Executives, Health Service representatives, public representatives, service users etc. as relevant to the role.
  • Significant experience of professional writing, which has included some or all the following: condensing major reports, preparing briefings, preparing responses to Parliamentary Questions, media queries, FOI responses, Data Protection responses etc.
  • An in-depth knowledge of reports (internal and external) and national policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Significant experience in service improvement and service user engagement.
  • Significant experience of analysing and collating large volumes of data and producing summary reports using MS Excel or similar tools.
  • Project management experience.
  • The requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, and managerial ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

Post Specfics:

Must be a car driver with access to own transport to fulfil the requirements of the role as the post will involve travel.
