Christmas Seasonal Staff

Sheridans CheesemongersCarnaross, County Meath€11.40 - €14.25 per hourPart-time

Love good food, wine, meeting people, and learning something new?

We're looking for seasonal team members to join Sheridans Cheesemongers over the busy Christmas period. From serving customers and preparing cheese to building festive hampers, serving wine and coffee, and keeping things running behind the scenes, you'll be part of the team that makes Christmas at Sheridans happen.

No previous cheesemongering, wine bar, or café experience is needed. An interest in cheese, wine, coffee, and good food is preferred, but not essential. What's most important is a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and an enjoyment of working with customers and as part of a team.

At Sheridans, we believe great food and drink are about more than what's on the counter or in the glass. It's about the people who make them, the stories behind them, and sharing that experience with our customers. Working with us is an opportunity to learn about Irish and European artisan food, discover new cheeses and wines, develop your retail and hospitality skills, and be part of a team that cares about what it does.

You'll receive in-house training and work alongside experienced cheesemongers and hospitality team members. You'll learn about the exceptional cheeses, artisan foods, wines, and drinks we stock and serve. There's also a great staff discount on Sheridans products.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Welcoming customers and providing friendly, helpful service across our shop, wine bar, and café.
  • Learning about and sharing knowledge of cheese, artisan foods, wine, coffee, and the producers behind them.
  • Helping customers choose products, discover new flavours, and find the perfect food and wine pairings.
  • Preparing, caring for, and displaying cheese and other retail products to a high standard.
  • Serving wine, drinks, and café orders, ensuring customers receive an attentive and enjoyable experience.
  • Assisting with basic café preparation and food service, following food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Taking orders, serving customers at tables or the counter, and helping to clear and reset tables.
  • Supporting the team with deliveries, stock rotation, and keeping the shop, bar, and café well organised.
  • Preparing and presenting festive food hampers.
  • Maintaining clean and tidy counters, fridges, coffee stations, tables, glassware, and work areas.
  • Helping with opening and closing duties, replenishing supplies, and keeping service running smoothly.
  • Working together across the shop, wine bar, and café to deliver a warm, welcoming customer experience throughout the busy Christmas period.
What We're Looking For
  • A genuine interest in food, cheese, wine, coffee, or artisan products is preferred, but not essential.
  • Friendly, confident communication and a willingness to engage with customers.
  • A positive attitude, initiative, and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • An interest in hospitality and creating a great customer experience.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good attention to detail and an organised approach to work.
  • Flexibility to support different areas of the business as needed.
  • Availability to work weekends, including late evenings to support business needs.
  • Previous retail, café, bar, or food service experience is helpful, but full training will be provided.
