Job Overview
The Cleanroom Microbiologist will be mainly based in our manufacturing areas and will be responsible for gathering samples from these areas for quality assurance purposes. This is an important role which requires dedicated individuals who can work largely unsupervised using their own initiative, who are capable of employing good time-management and organisational skills.
The successful candidate will be required to work a shift pattern which, depending on Production requirements will involve either 8 hour or 12-hour rotations which will include nightshifts and weekends.
Key tasks of the role include:
Other tasks carried out on a non-routine basis include but are not limited to recommissioning and reclassification testing, DOP testing of HEPA filters, identification of isolates recovered from pharmaceutical cleanrooms.

- Previous unsuccessful applicants in the last 6 months are not eligble for application.
The successful candidate will be required to work a shift pattern which, depending on Production requirements will involve either 8 hour or 12-hour rotations which will include nightshifts and weekends.
Key tasks of the role include:
- Sampling of pharmaceutical cleanrooms
- Recording of data onto a database system
Other tasks carried out on a non-routine basis include but are not limited to recommissioning and reclassification testing, DOP testing of HEPA filters, identification of isolates recovered from pharmaceutical cleanrooms.
Essential Criteria:
Applicants must therefore demonstrate the following essential criteria on their application form in order to be considered:
- Grade C or above in both English and Maths at GCSE level (or equivalent).
- The ability to work a shift pattern, this will involve either 8 or 12 hour rotations which will include nightshifts and weekends
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated on application form, pre-interview written test and at interview.
- Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Full UK Driving License (for occasional movement between sites)
Due to the nature of the role preference will be given to applicants demonstrating the following desirable criteria:
- Experience of shift work
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience of following formal Standard Operating Procedures
