The Cleanroom Technician is responsible for executing day-to-day functions for the preparation and fabrication of concept/prototype surgical implant product designs in a cleanroom setting.

As a member of a larger international Product Development team, the Cleanroom Technician must be able to execute protocols according to procedure to produce viable prototype medical devices and assist in subsequent analysis.

Be the Cleanroom Technician:

  • Execute day-to-day, hands-on functions as part of a cross-functional team to produce prototype medical devices in multiple ISO Class 7 Cleanrooms.
  • Perform analytical testing on prototype medical devices to generate data used to drive iterative product design.
  • Assist in generating and executing formal test protocols and authoring reports.
  • Concisely communicates technical challenges and recommend possible solutions.
  • Generate product development documentation and reports using appropriate technical writing.
  • Maintain accurate data records and present data in a reportable format.
  • Adheres to all BD policies and procedures and is able to maintain compliance with ISO and FDA requirements.
  • Assists in the installation, qualification, validation, and maintenance of R&D, manufacturing, and analytical equipment.
  • Participates in technical review meetings, as required.
  • Ability to work effectively with a highly diverse, international cross-functional team.
  • Ability to think outside the box and a willingness to propose novel ideas in an open forum.
  • Setting high goals for personal and group accomplishment; pushing oneself and others to exceed performance goals and standards; strong and independent drive for success.

The successful candidate will have a minimum Bachelors Honors degree (preferably Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering or similar), with a minimum of 3+ years in similar role. Experience working with implantable medical devices or device coatings for medical/surgical applications is a plus.

They will have the ability to operate lab equipment, maintain a laboratory notebook in accordance with GLP standard and follow procedures to operate a wide range of laboratory equipment.
