Applications are invited for the above post from suitably qualified persons
This is a key post with responsibility and accountability for the provision of efficient administrative for the Academic Department and its core activities and supporting the Academic Lead and Ethics Committee Chair. Activities include overseeing the administration and governance of education and research activities and management of the Hospital Ethics Committee activities.
The candidate must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office, possess:

The candidate must, on the latest date for receiving completed application forms, possess:
- A tertiary qualification in either Business Administration, Management, Education, Healthcare or another related field.
- At least 2 years satisfactory experience in an academic or research setting.
- Sufficient administrative capacity to discharge the functions of a Grade V Administrator.
- Extensive experience supporting committees/groups with coordinating and recording meetings / events.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
- A high level of working knowledge of computer packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent team working skills with capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills.
It is desirable that the post holder has
- A sound background in and knowledge of the Health Services Sector.
- Experience in research ethics as secretary or manager of a local or regional Research Ethics Committee
- Working knowledge of the HSE National Electronic Research Management system
- Working knowledge of the HSE National Framework for Governance, Management and Support of Health Research
This is a permanent full-time vacancy with the Academics department. Salary for this post is aligned with Clerical Officer Grade V pay-scale.
