Clerical Officer

The Role

To support the administration process in a busy work environment

There are currently a number of vacancies available in the HSE Dublin and South East Region.

The role of a clerical officer is a key role in both community and acute health services in Ireland.

All applicants will be given the opportunity, at the time of application, to indicate a county preference area.

Candidates successful at interview will be placed on the regional panel in order of merit.

Where vacancies arise, posts will be expressed to the panel as follows:

1.County Preference Area

Vacancies will initially be expressed to candidates who have selected the county preference area in which the vacancy arises, in order of merit.

2.Regional Panel

Where a vacancy remains unfilled, an expression of interest will then be issued to the full regional panel, in order of merit, regardless of county preference.

The person

1.Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc

(a)Eligible applicants will be those on the closing date for the competition:

(i) Have obtained at least grade D (or pass) in Higher or Ordinary Level in five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education established Leaving Certificate Examination or Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme or Leaving Certificate Applied.

Or

(ii) Have passed an examination of at least equivalent standard

Or

(iii) Have satisfactory relevant experience which encompasses demonstrable equivalent skills

And

(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and administrative ability), for the proper discharge of the office.

Post specific requirements

• Demonstrate experience as relevant to the role.
• Demonstrate good computer skills including experience in Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook
