Position: Clerical Officer

Contract: Part Time

Hours: 12 hours per week Monday – Wednesday (8.30am – 12.30pm)

Salary range: Consolidated Payscale apply to this post.

Reporting to: Head of Operations

Closing date: 23rdJune on or before 17.00pm (This competition maybe closed early in the event of a high volume of applicants)

Essential Skills:

· Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word / Excel

· Excellent keyboard / typing

· Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise tasks

· Have excellent interpersonal skills

· Excellent organisational and administrative skills

· Excellent communication skills

· Practice a high level of confidentiality

· Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility

Desirable Skills:

· Previous relevant hospital/healthcare experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Carry out general administration duties and provide clerical support to Medical Dept.

· Receive and respond to emails and queries

· Type letters and reports as dictated by the Consultant

· Provide administrative support to the Older Persons OPD clinics (there are currently 2 clinics a month with 4 referrals to each clinic)

· Obtain charts from Medical Records for the clinics and as requested by the Consultant

· To ensure that all calls that are received are dealt with in an efficient, professional and timely manner.

· To have a good understanding of the workings of the Hospital.

· Deal with all enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

· Maintain efficient general office procedures as appropriate to the post.

· Liaise with staff in other departments and the public and outside agencies in a confidential, courteous and professional manner.

· Ensure that security and confidentiality, with regard to relevant systems, are maintained at all times.

The successful candidate will carry out the following duties. Please note this list is not exhaustive and additional duties may be required but will be discussed in detail with the line manager.
