Client Delivery Manager

You probably haven’t heard of Wanzl, but guaranteed you will have touched, seen and interacted with one of our products or services within the last few weeks. Nipped round the supermarket? Yep those trolleys and shelving are ours. Just got back from your holidays? Those vending and luggage trolley systems are ours. If gardening is your thing, then you will have come across us in B&Q. Wear glasses? Then you will have seen our display units in Specsavers. The teams collecting trolleys in Ikea or Tesco, they work with us. We have a customer list to die for but we want to do more, we want to grow, to innovate, to push into new markets.

Wanzl are big. We were founded in Germany by the Wanzl family and they still own the business. Turning over nearly €900m with 4500 people across the globe, we are market leaders. In the UK & Ireland, we now turnover circa £121m with over 750 people on the team.

 The Client Development Manager is responsible for managing new opportunities ensuring the delivery of goods and services profitably to achieve sales targets. The role also involves maintaining and developing existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods whilst focusing on quality of the service, business growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Setting goals and developing plans for business and revenue growth
  • Developing strategies to meet those goals
  • Researching, planning, and implementing new target markets
  • Researching prospective accounts in target markets
  • Pursuing leads and moving them through the sales cycle
  • Developing quotes and proposals for prospective clients
  • To develop individual account strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets to meet and achieve the company product and customer mix targets within accounts.
  • To submit and achieve individual account/personal objectives in line with profit centre strategies and overall company strategy.
  • To achieve agreed annual volume sales and profit targets in line with the budget expectations of the Wanzl Ireland.
  • To negotiate on price and costs with key customers and meet/communicate on a regular basis with them and ensure that each meeting has a defined sales objective.
  • To establish, maintain and communicate customers profiles and data for each customer to enable marketing activities.
  • To provide an interface between the Group colleagues and key account contacts in order to provide excellent two way communication, information and feedback regarding all information relating to sales opportunities.
  • To develop, support and maintain strong links and co-operation internally.
  • To proactively identify business risk and opportunities.
  • To present Wanzl Ireland management with key market information which is relevant and may enable future business opportunities to be developed.
  • Responsibility for account profit & loss and debt management

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Confident sales oriented person with ability to engage multiple stakeholders & identify new opportunities for sales growth within food & non -food retail environments
  • Natural communicator with exceptional influencing skills
  • Demonstrable track record of working with the project management team
  • Significant experience monitoring, measuring & reporting on Adherence to SLA, Customer KPI’s & Customer Satisfaction
  • Experience in system installations, multiple short duration projects roll outs & knowledge in other areas of shop fitting.
  • Develop full-scale project plans & associated communications documents
  • Responsible for account profit & loss, margin performance, debt & stock management
  • The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years direct work experience in a sales capacity within the retail industry including all aspects of product & process development & execution.
  • Database & operating systems experience with Microsoft packages in particular Word, Excel & Powerpoint essential
  • Full Irish driving license required.

Personal Specification

  • Highly organised & able to prioritise to handle multiple orders or tasks
  • Experience in dealing directly with Main Contractors
  • Experience in dealing directly with customers at store & HQ level
  • Flexibility to respond to a wide variety of requests & to support team
  • A knowledge of shop fitting competencies & products is desirable
  • Self-motivated to achieve results without close supervision
  • Be driven to look for efficiencies, highlight risks & improve working processes
  • Analytical & problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
  • Strong written & oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise & execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
  • A natural communicator, with exceptional influencing skills, you will also have a demonstrable track record of strong leadership & excellent project management.

Desirable Requirement

  • Knowledge of a CRM system
