St. Michael's House Services is a community-based organisation committed to providing a quality person centred service and high standard of living to people with an intellectual disability (ID) in the greater Dublin area. St.Michael’s House is committed to providing individualised supports to people so that they can enjoy experiences, opportunities, and lifestyles similar to their peers. St. Michaels House, as one of the largest disability services, provides support services to over c2,300 people including, 1,200 children people with a disability in the following settings: Day Centres, Residential Centres, Palliative Care, Respite Centres. St. Michaels House adult services also provide services to young adults as they transition from Childrens School services to St. Michaels House adult Services.
Applications are invited for this position from suitably qualified candidates. The Clinical Education Facilitator (CEF) is a CNM2 graded post to focus solely on educational and support needs of nursing staff. The CEF has a pivotal role in fostering an atmosphere conducive to learning and co-ordinating and managing education. This coordinating of nursing education will ensure the provision of a quality clinical learning environment for post registration nurses and the undergraduate student nurses learning in practice.
Essential Criteria:
- Have a RNID qualification and be presently registered and approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Other Nursing disciplines with a minimum of 5 years experience in the area of intellectual disability may apply. Have experience in the area of intellectual disability, complex health needs and positive behaviour support.
- Have a of 3 years minimum experience in management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care with responsibility for managing budgets and resources.
- Have experience in the area of staff support, taking the lead in teams, resource management and administration duties
- Be knowledgeable of Health Act 2007 and have experience and understanding of HIQA Regulations (2013).
- Experience in teaching and coaching nurses in specific nursing interventions, identified in our current service delivery such as: Diabetes Nursing Care, Appliance prescribing, skin integrity, Continence Promotion nursing interventions, Enteral Tube Feeding, Intervention led Respiratory Nursing Care (CPAP, BiPAP, Suctioning) Airway Clearance Nursing Care,
- Possess a strong commitment to the provision of a quality individualised person-centred service.
- Experience in identifying and managing clinical risk
- Be committed to working as part of a team.
Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid in line with HSE revised consolidated HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Scale Point 1: 62,078 to Point 11: 78,443 LSI per annum.
Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above.
