Position: Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1)

Location: Montenotte, Cork.

Employment type: Full Time Permanent 37.5 hour working week

Aligned to the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 pay scale

Salary: The 8-point salary scale for the post as of 01/06/2026.

About the Role

As a CNM1 you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care to children we support attending respite services. You will oversee the day-to-day clinical management of centre, under the guidance of the Person in Charge, ensuring high standards of care, compliance with regulations and a nurturing environment for children and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the delivery of care to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of children attending respite.
• Supervise and support a team of staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement individual Short Breaks Passports / Support plans in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Monitor clinical practices and provide guidance, training and mentorship to staff.
• Manage risk, ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to and address any concerns in a proactive manner.
• Liaise with families, external agencies and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and high-quality service delivery.

Essential Requirements:

Applicants on the closing date for the competition must:

• Be a registered nurse with active NMBI registration.
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ post-registration experience, preferably in disability, residential or respite care.
• Hold up to date permission to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland.
• Possess a good working knowledge of HIQA standards and other relevant legislation.
• Demonstrate leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Full Clean Driver’s License is an advantage.
