Clinical Nurse Manager, Digital Health
The Role
Digital for Care 2030 is Ireland’s strategic plan to modernise health and social care through digital innovation. The Digital Health Strategic Implementation Roadmap serves as our digital plan towards an integrated, universal and high-quality health and social care system for our population.
The purpose of this post is to assist in the preparation of implementation, adoption and optimisation of National and Regional led Digital Projects outlined in the Digital Health Strategic Implementation Roadmap. They will also contribute to the delivery of the other strategic goals of the corporate team.
The principal object of the post is to support the modernisation of health service delivery, using information technology to improve access to clinical information and knowledge to enhance shared decision-making regarding patient care.
They will act as a key conduit between national programme teams, local implementation teams, and clinical services in the region, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of Digital health programmes of work.
The post holder will support the team to ensure that the Nursing and Midwifery workforce is enabled to effectively contribute to and benefit from integrated digital care records.
Having a regional impact on the digital health strategy, the post holder will support work across all care settings in the Region to ensure information flow is patient centred and is in the right place at the right time for the right patient.
The Person
Each candidate must at the latest date of application:
1. Professional Qualifications & Experience, etc.
i) Be registered in a Division of the Register of Nurses or Midwives maintained by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be entitled to be so registered.
And
ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience of which 2 must be in the speciality or related area of Health Informatics/ Information Technology
And
iii) Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
And
b) Possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
2. Annual Registration
i) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
And
ii) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character
Post Specific Requirements
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of nursing or midwifery leadership experience at a management level
- Experience of the implementation of clinical information systems, or other common health care clinical applications
- Demonstrate your depth and breadth of Project management experience
Other Specific Requirements
- Access to one’s own appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role is essential
- Commitment to undertake additional learning and development in digital health to meet the requirements of the post
