Clinical Nurse Manager / National Drug Treatment Centre

The role

The Clinical Nurse Manager will lead, manage, organise and deliver compassionate, accessible, integrated care to a highly vulnerable population.

The post holder will also play a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for quality assurance, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership.

The person

Each candidate must, at the latest date for receipt of completed applications for the post possess:

1. Professional Qualifications & Experience

(i) Are registered in the Psychiatric division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.

And/ Or

Are registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.

And

(ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience of which 2 must be in the speciality area of Addiction Studies

And

(iii) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role

And

(iv) Demonstrate evidence of Continuing Professional Development at the appropriate level.

3. Health

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

4. Character

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.

Please note that appointment to and continuation in posts that require statutory registration is dependent upon the post holder maintaining annual registration in the Register of Pharmacists maintained by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
