Clinical Nurse Manager, Oncology Haematology Day Unit University Hospital
Purpose of the Post
The post of CNM 2 has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are: quality assurance, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership.
Cancer Services
CUH is one of the nine designated cancer centres of the HSE National Cancer Care Programme (NCCP), one of two centres in the southern region and a designated cancer site. We provide cancer services predominantly to people who live in the counties of Cork, Kerry, South Tipperary, West Waterford and South East Limerick. Our cancer services include Rapid Access Clinic Breast, Lung, Prostate and Colorectal services; surgical cancer treatments; Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology and Haematology Oncology consultation; chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments; Acute pain and psycho-oncology services.
Dunmanway Day Unit
As one of the regional cancer centres, the Oncology Haematology Day Unit (known as the Dunmanway Day Unit) co-ordinates care of oncology /haematology patients receiving systemic anti-cancer treatment including combined modality regimes, immunotherapy , pre and post-transplant , oncology /haematology/radiotherapy trials.
