Person in Charge & Community Nurse Manager Roles

Full Time, Permanent

37.5 hour working week

Horizons are recruiting for the positions of Person in Charge and Community Nurse Manager at a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 grade with successful candidates being panelled for both Person in Charge and Community Nurse Manager roles across Horizons Residential settings/Community environments. The successful applicants will be required to work in progressive and dynamic environments supporting people with an intellectual disability and/or autism.

Requirements:

  • Not less than five years post registration experience to include a minimum of three years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in the area of health or social care
  • An appropriate qualification in health or social care management and a commitment to undertake further training is essential
  • Be on the live register of the NMBI
  • Be computer literate and have proficient IT skills
  • Focused on Horizon’s vision around community based, self-directed, rights-based supports for people
  • Ability to develop a person-centred culture, focused on individualised supports
  • A comprehensive knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills, including team leadership and team working, time management, budget management, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • An ability to organise, manage and motivate people and to liaise with Parents/Families and Stakeholders
  • Be adaptable and flexible in their approach to the working environment
  • Good working knowledge of relevant policy particularly "A time to move on from congregated settings"
  • A full driver’s licence is essential with access to own vehicle

Community Nurse Team

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Nursing, this position will lead a Community Nurse Team delivering responsive person-centred care within the Horizons Community. This team will respond to the evolving health needs of the People We Support (PWS), through compassionate care, innovative approaches and sustainable practices, while actively promoting the heath and wellbeing of the PWS across various settings within Horizons.

Person in Charge

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Person in Charge will be responsible for the overall governance and management of the designated centre(s) assigned. This includes responsibility for the management of staff and providing the highest standard of care to the People We Support. The successful appointee will be responsible for ensuring compliance with HIQA standards and the implementation of Horizons policies and procedures supporting best care and practice in disability services.
