Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2) – Baldoyle Day Service & Chanel Local Centre – Fixed Term Contract from August 2026

A vacancy exists for a Full-Time Fixed-Term Contract Clinical Nurse Manager 2 in Baldoyle Day Service & Chanel Local Centre. Both day services support a total of 34 service users and are adjacent to each other. The CNM2 will be responsible for managing 2 staff teams comprising of a variety of skill mixes, from direct support workers, social care workers, and staff nurses with the support of CNM1s in both locations .

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates. This role requires a strong ability to lead a team, to problem solve, and to work on one’s own initiative.

Essential Criteria:

  • Hold an RNID qualification and be currently registered and approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Applicants from other nursing disciplines with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of intellectual disability may also apply.
  • Hold a recognised accredited management qualification.
  • Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role within health or social care, with responsibility for managing budgets and resources.
  • Demonstrate experience in staff support, leading teams, resource management, and performing administrative duties.
  • Be knowledgeable of the Health Act 2007 and have experience and understanding of Interim Standards for New Directions(2015).Have the clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge functions of the role.
  • Experience in group facilitation/education.
  • Be able to support service users within their local community along with developing independent skills and personal goals.
  • Have the ability to encourage opportunities for learning through programmes such as Cosan and QQI courses.
  • To collaborate with members of the MDT and families, as appropriate to the needs of service users.
  • Experience of working with individuals with both verbal and nonverbal communication
  • Have experience supporting individuals with diabetes, cardiac, GI, and neurological health conditions.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse Policy.
  • Be committed to delivering a quality, human-rights based, person-centred service.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Have experience in key working.

CNM2/Day service manager responsibilities:

The successful candidate will also ensure effective governance, oversight, and operational management of both centres. The CNM2 will be responsible for:

  • Leading the implementation and maintenance of high-quality care standards in line with New Directions.
  • Ensuring robust risk management, incident reporting, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Supporting staff development, compliance monitoring, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Driving person-centred planning, promoting autonomy and social inclusion for all Service Users.

Salary Scale:

Successful candidates will be paid in line with the revised consolidated HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Scale.
