Clinical Nurse Specialist (Epilepsy)

Base: DUBLIN REGION

PERMANENT PART-TIME CONTRACT (25 Hours Per Week)

Salary:€62,699 - €79,227 (Lsi)

*Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience .

This is an exciting opportunity to lead out on the Epilepsy Clinic in the Dublin region. This post will provide specialist nursing input to a defined case load of supported individuals with Epilepsy using evidence-based specialist nursing skills and person-centred principles. The successful candidate will be working with the outreach ANP in the specialist area from Beaumont and with the clinicians and MDT in ensuring smooth transitions for persons with Epilepsy from children to adult services.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates.

Essential:

· Registration with the Intellectual Disability Division of the Register of Nurses held by NMBI.

· Maintained annual registration with the NMBI.

· Have a minimum of five years’ post registration experience, of which two must be working within the specialist area of Epilepsy and Intellectual Disability.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and effective caseload management skills.

· Full driving license with access to own transport.

· Can practice safely and effectively fulfilling their professional responsibilities within their scope of practice.

· Have successfully completed level 9 or equivalent post-registration qualification relevant to the specialist area (Epilepsy).

· Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.

· Competent and possess an in-depth knowledge and experience of the Microsoft suite.

· Be knowledgeable of The Health Act 2007 and HIQA regulations.

Desirable: (non-essential)

· Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

· Knowledgeable of Shaping the future of intellectual Disability Nursing in Ireland (2018) and Sláintecare (2018).
