CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST CARE OF THE OLDER PERSON

PERMANENT FULL-TIME CONTRACT (37.5 Hours Per Week).

Salary: €62,078 -€78,443 * (lsi)

*Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience .

This is an exciting opportunity to join our COP and Intellectual Disability specialist multidisciplinary team and will provide specialist nursing input to co-ordinate the care of a defined case load of supported individuals with complex and diverse needs using evidence-based specialist nursing skills and person-centred principles. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates.

Essential:

• Registration with the Intellectual Disability Division of the Register of Nurses held by NMBI.
• Maintained annual registration with the NMBI.
• Have a minimum of five years’ post registration experience, of which two must be in the specialist area of Care of the Older Person and Intellectual Disability.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and effective caseload management skills.
• Have successfully completed or be prepared to undertake a level 9 post-registration QQI national qualification relevant to the specialist area (Care of the Older Person and Intellectual Disability).
• Be knowledgeable of The Health Act 2007 and HIQA regulations.
• Full clean manual Irish driving licence with access to own transport.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• Desire to support people to live their best lives and commitment to promoting the active engagement and

participation of Service Users in their local communities.

• Willingness to support persons to develop skills and competencies around identified areas of interest and learning.

Desirable:

· Evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

Knowledgeable of Shaping the future of intellectual Disability Nursing in Ireland (2018) and Sláinte Care (2018).

Applicants should possess Level 2 behavioural competencies of DOCDSS competency framework as set out in the job descriptions.
