There is currently 2 permanent whole time post available in Waterford Mental Health Services and 1 permanent whole time post available in Wexford Mental Health Services.

Please note that there is an existing panel in place for Clinical Nurse Specialist (Mental Health) (CAMHS).The existing panel will take precedence over the supplementary panel created through this campaign for any future posts that arise

A panel may be created from this campaign Clinical Nurse Specialist (Mental Health) (CAMHS) from which future permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post

The purpose of this Clinical Nurse Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health (2625) post is to:

Deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist Posts, 4th edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008.

The successful candidate will work as a key member of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health multidisciplinary team providing a patient centred quality service to patients and this specialist practice will encompass a major clinical focus, which comprises assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care given to patients and their families.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (Child and Adolescent Mental Health) has a pivotal role in the delivery of effective, recovery-orientated, high-quality, team-based, integrated care for individuals with mental health problems. The purpose of the role is also to provide assessment and support to the individual through the delivery of appropriate treatment and recovery-orientated interventions to support care in the community working towards a reduction in the need for acute hospitalisation. This may include domiciliary visits, family support, and liaison with other services.
