Clinical Nurse Specialist, Hepatobiliary, GI UNIT

The Hepatobiliary Clinical Nurse Specialist will lead in providing an education, management, and support service for patients undergoing ERCP/EUS. Lead in disseminating and implementing evidence-based care in writing shared guidelines/protocols regarding ERCP/EUS and endoscopic interventions.

· Have responsibility for the provision of specialist care to this patient cohort and will co-manage a case load of patients attending the GI Unit for ERCP and EUS.

· Support the efficiency of the interventional and diagnostic GI services.

· Facilitate scheduling and follow-up of all interventional procedures.

· Support and educate nursing colleagues regarding ERCP/EUS and endoscopic interventions.

· Work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team providing physical, psychological, and emotional support to patients undergoing ERCP/EUS.

Maintain a database to monitor outcomes of ERCP/EUS and interventional procedures to ensure we are adhering to national and international best practice outcomes.
