Clinical Nurse Specialist Orthopedics & Spinal

The CNS should have extensive clinical knowledge and expertise in this specialist field, working as part of the multidisciplinary team. S/he will be required to ensure effective liaison between patients and clinicians in primary and secondary care.

The CNS role encompasses five core concepts- clinical practice, audit & research, advocacy, advice & consultation, education & training, as defined by the National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (April 2001)
