Clinical Specialist Dietitian Haematology Oncology

Purpose of the Role:

· Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of an evidenced based, person centred, quality Nutrition and Dietetics service to the Haematology Oncology service in CHI.

· The post-holder will also provide nutrition and dietetic support and education to the children and young adults who access the Haematology Oncology service.

· The post holder will work in conjunction with other team members within the Nutrition and Dietetics Department and the Haematology Oncology service in co-ordinating and developing the service to meet the needs of the population it serves in line with the objectives of the organisation / best practice recommendations.

· They will act as a resource and provide expert opinion, advice and guidance to nutrition and dietetics colleagues and other healthcare professionals.

· This role will provide leadership to the team of Dietitians working in Haematology Oncology in CHI.

· The post holder will carry out additional clinical, educational, and administrative duties as required.

Essential Criteria:

· Applicants must be registered as a Dietitian by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU

· Have 5 years’ full time (or an aggregate of five years) post qualification dietetic experience of which 4 years full time (or an aggregate of four years) must be consecutive in paediatric Haematology Oncology

· Demonstrate a proven record of clinical excellence in paediatric Haematology Oncology.

· Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to paediatric dietetics/Haematology Oncology.

· Demonstrate experience in the areas of clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching and research.

· Applicants must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability, management, leadership and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
