CLINICAL SPECIALIST OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

CHILDREN’S SERVICES, DUBLIN

PERMANENT PART-TIME (17.5 Hours Per Week)

Salary:€67,274 -€78,066

*Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience and pro-rated for hours of work.

Avista is a dynamic disability service providing clinical supports and residential services to children with complex disability needs and their families. We have 3 network teams in Blanchardstown, Blakestown & Cabra. This post is being recruited to cover the specialist Motor Management service over Avista’s three Children’s Disability Network Team, based in Blakestown CDNT. You will be joining dynamic, family centred, interdisciplinary teams with excellent access to supervision and support.. The successful candidates will required to work as part of an Interdisciplinary Team that provide services to 0-18 year old children and young persons with complex needs. The candidates will work in partnership with families within a family centred model.

Essential:

• A BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent CORU registered Occupational Therapy qualification

• Proof of up to date CORU Occupational Therapy registration

• 5 years post qualification experience

• 3 years recent and satisfactory experience with-in the field of complex children’s disability, in particular Physical Disability

• Experience and evidence of post-graduate training in upper limb interventions for children with disability and 24 hour postural management

• Full clean driving licence with use of a car

Desirable:

• A proven record of clinical/academic achievement including development in the specialist area; evidence of post-graduate education in the designated clinical area.

• Knowledge of PDS

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork and effective caseload management skills. In addition, they should possess good planning, organisation and effective time management skills together with the ability to work on their own initiative.

• Applicants should possess Level 2 Behavioural Competencies of Avista Competency Framework which can be found attached underneath the Job Description on our website
