Overall job role:
- To work with the Urogynaecology Consultants and relevant health care professionals in undertaking triage of urogynaecology referrals to ensure efficient and effective management of the waiting list and to improve the patient pathway of care.
- To provide a first contact of care following triage of the referral and link back into the urogynaecology service as required.
- To attend clinics with the relevant Consultant or Specialist Registrar
- To provide the physiotherapy advanced assessment, management and treatment of patients referred from the gynaecology service as part of the National Women's and Infants Health Programme (NWHIP) and scheduled care services in the Coombe Hospital.
- To provide advance practice in the management of urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and associated conditions according to relevant guidelines and under the governance of the Obstetric/Gynaecological teams.
- To work within the multidisciplinary team ethos and liaise with staff to ensure effective communication takes place at all times.
- Promote and ensure clinical effectiveness, a high standard of care following evidencebased guidelines.
- To evaluate and develop the clinical specialist role through clinical audit and research.
- Provide expert clinical lead for Women's Health and Continence senior/physiotherapy colleagues.
- To represent the hospital through lecturing on external courses and participation in national groups to improve care nationally.
- To be responsible for evaluating the service and recording KPI’s and reporting back to Senior Management and NWHIP.
