To strengthen and support our Digital transformation journey we have an exciting opportunity for a visionary Cloud Architect to join us and play a pivotal role in leading and shaping our Cloud Centre of Enablement. Tasked with championing cloud adoption across the bank, we are seeking candidates who have a clear vision for cloud technology and demonstrated success in Financial Services.

The ideal candidate will be a natural leader, with solid communication skills who takes accountability for the delivery of high impact initiatives. They will have strong domain and industry experience and will demonstrate they have the requisite knowledge and skills to lead delivery of the bank¿s Cloud Strategy. They will champion and promote the adoption of public and private cloud technology to deliver business solutions to market in shorter timeframes, providing scalable, resilient and extensible technology infrastructure; and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead the application modernisation roadmap. This is a key role for the organisation that will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities to manage, mentor and inspire architects, engineers, and developers in pursuit of becoming Irelands best personal and business bank through exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and advocate for the Cloud Strategy, promoting the adoption of Cloud to create opportunities for efficiency and value realisation.
  • Overall accountability for the cloud domain architecture roadmap incorporating best practices to support PTSBs business objectives.
  • Lead and drive the Cloud Centre of Enablement (CCoE) to ensure effective cloud adoption across the organisation.
  • Define and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards in alignment with PTSBs regulatory requirements.
  • Encourage and foster engineering best practices across development and infrastructure delivery teams with a focus on fast flow.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years¿ experience across multiple IT roles with at least 5 years¿ experience in Cloud Architecture, Engineering or Operations roles for large, regulated FSIs.
  • Experienced in leading cloud transformation initiatives within a complex organisation, including development of Cloud Strategy.
  • Experience in AWS or Azure well architected frameworks and understanding of core SRE concepts.
  • Technical knowledge of Public/Private Clouds with a specialism in AWS, Azure or GCP, including delivery of cloud deployment patterns.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Bicep as well as container mgmt. platforms like OCP.
  • Knowledgeable in cloud security, compliance, and regulatory frameworks within the financial sector (e.g. ISO27001, CSA, NIST, SOC)
  • Excellent Risk Management skills including mitigation strategies specific to ensuring safe use of Cloud technologies.
  • Passionate about enabling teams for flow and removing handoffs through, team design, training and upskilling programs.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging and influencing at all levels, to drive cloud adoption across the org.
  • Strategic thinker that enjoys the challenge of solving complex problems through a results-oriented mindset.
  • Remains up to date on new tools & techniques in Cloud technologies and industry best practices.

This is a 2 year Fixed Term contract role based in Dublin or Cork(Hybrid options available within the Republic of Ireland)
