The Role:
Uisce Éireann IT (UÉ IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business, and across the Local Authority user base. IT Operations is responsible for all operational run activities across Applications, Operational Technology, Service Management and Infrastructure.
The IT Infrastructure team is responsible for IT/OT infrastructure services to the business across a wide range of functions including maintenance of existing systems and IT/OT infrastructure, release management, configuration management, IT/OT disaster recovery, vendor management, security infrastructure management, IT/OT standards compliance and quality assurance. The team guide resources, facilitate team demand management and capacity planning, and manage the seqUÉncing and operational interdependencies of all IT Operations related initiatives. The infrastructure team also manages the data centres and IT/OT infrastructure for UÉ, including IT availability and IT continuity.
Reporting to the Cloud Team Lead, the Cloud Resource Analyst will be responsible for supporting the day to day operational IT Cloud Operations, Infrastructure and Cloud Services supporting Uisce Éireann.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of IT Cloud Infrastructure and related Cloud Services
- Schedule the IT Cloud infrastructure and operations workload. Define, document, maintain and communicate clear and unambiguous roles and responsibilities for the team’s services with all internal and external parties involved
- Support the management of outsourced Cloud contracts and relationships with suppliers and ensure service providers perform to the SLAs documented in the contract
- Support the management of service continuity and oversee vendor solution back-ups, maintaining and rehearsing a set of plans to support the overall Uisce Éireann business continuity plans implementing measures to improve the availability of services where possible
- Support the management of relationships with external IT hardware and software vendors supporting IT Cloud Infrastructure and Services
- Schedule the Cloud Infrastructure workloads primarily across BAU operations, but also in support of project delivery and transition to BAU operations
- Support the corporate IT Technical and Security standards pertaining to Cloud Infrastructure and Services
- Ensure that all required Cloud Infrastructure support documentation is prepared and maintained, reflecting the fast pace of infrastructure change.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business, including but not limited to Cyber Security, Service Management, OT IT and Build & Delivery.
- Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
- Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
- Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Specific Experience in Azure networking, Azure AAD, Active Directory, Microsoft Servers OS, Azure Conditional Policies, Azure PIM, Exchange Online, OCI IDCS, OCI Compute Instances, highly desirable.
Certification in Microsoft Azure highly desirable.
Experience in Office 365, VMware, AD and Exchange highly desirable.
Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
A minimum of 3 years' experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience
Experience with change management, documenting change and developing SOPs.
Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others.
Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems, suggest potential improvements and propose and implement solutions where necessary.
Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job
