What is the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Cloud Security, the job holder will provide support within the Cloud Security team, contributing to the engineering of security technologies to safeguard the Bank’s IT systems, network, and applications from current and emerging threats during development and maintenance cycles, with a primary focus on the organization’s cloud environments. The successful candidate will help implement security strategy and target security architectures, patterns, and roadmaps.
The successful candidate will work closely with Security Product owners and project teams, supporting the alignment of our applications, products and services to our architectural and security targets as well. The role holder will be responsible for working across various cloud platforms, including public, private, and hybrid models, to assess risks and ensure that cloud controls safeguard the organization’s critical assets and sensitive data. They will be responsible for ensuring that the Security Products are aligned to targets and security architecture will be responsible for the roadmap of those targets.
Key accountabilities:
- Design cloud security processes, including risk and posture management, incident response, and operational resilience, ensuring successful and timely delivery of results
- Design and implement robust security processes and frameworks to support cloud adoption, ensure compliance with ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Benchmarks
- Establish a framework for the development, review and implementation of technical security policies, ensuring alignment with regulatory and organisational requirements
- Translate AIB’s cloud security strategy and business objectives into secure by design solutions. Maintain secure architectures for public, private, and hybrid cloud environments
- Partner with cloud vendors, partner, architects, DevOps teams, and cybersecurity specialists to ensure secure solution delivery
- Identify and solve complex security problems, recommending innovative solutions and applying in-depth technical expertise to protect critical assets and sensitive data
- Act as a highly specialised individual contributor providing expertise to stakeholders on cloud security related topics, mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
- Provide technical expertise within the Cloud Working Group and Architecture Review Board, developing and presenting strategic technology solutions to safeguard the Bank’s IT systems, network, and applications
- Champion cloud security, compliance, and resilience, embedding controls and monitoring in all solution
- Drive cost optimisation (FinOps) and resource efficiency across cloud environments
Minimum Criteria:
- Minimum 8+ years in IT security, with 3+ years in cloud security architecture
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their security services
- Strong experience with cloud native technologies (AKS, EKS, OpenShift. Istio, Cilium) and their security services
- Proficiency in DevSecOps practices and CI/CD security integration
- Deep understanding of encryption standards, key management, and IAM
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST, ISO27001)
Preferred Certifications
- CISSP (Certified Information Security Systems Professional)
- CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
- CCSK (Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge)
- Azure Security Engineer Associate or AWS Security Specialty
- Azure Solution Architecture or AWS Solution Architecture
