Purpose
Support the Precision Engineering team in CNC Machine Operation of high-quality parts using the latest equipment. The role will require managing cutting-edge projects for our biggest customers from aerospace to automotive.
Principal Accountabilities
A Higher-Level qualification, such as Degree/HNC/HND, in a relevant discipline and 2+ years recent relevant experience in a Toolroom role, time served machinist and/or CNC programmer.
OR
4+ years recent relevant experience in a Toolroom role, time served machinist and/or CNC programmer.
Desirable Criteria
Monday to Thursday: 2000 - 0800 hrs

Purpose

Principal Accountabilities
- Perform CNC machine setups accurately, and efficiently
- Work with CNC programming to develop, implement and improve CNC programs
- Manage CNC machinery throughout production runs, overseeing machine operation and making necessary adjustments to ensure consistent quality
- Translate engineering drawings and requirements into production parts
- Implement technical advancements to increase production where possible
- Ensure the CNC machinery operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company
- Conduct regular CNC machine assessments and maintain where necessary to guarantee functionality
- Coordinate with Technical, Production, Quality, and other relevant departments to develop and implement manufacturing plans
- Perform quality checks using measurement equipment and gauges
- Manage schedules and communicate with internal stakeholders
- Ensure good housekeeping in line with Health & Safety and 5S practices
- Monitor and document operational and performance issues and provide feedback
- Creation of SOPs for products
- Contribute to day-to-day operations as required

Desirable Criteria
- CNC machining operations including mills (HAAS) and lathes (Citizen)
- Operation of 3, 4 and 5-axis mills
- Experience machining metals, plastics and composites
- Knowledge of CADCAM software such as MasterCAM
- Ability to translate mechanical documents and engineering drawings
- Understanding of GD&T
- Experience in the use of measurement equipment and gauges
