CNC Machinist / Programmer (Senior Team Role)

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer with at least 4 years experience to join our team in West Clare. This is a practical hands-on role with added responsibility supporting day-to-day production on the shop floor
This position is not a management role, but it does involve taking responsibility for supporting and guiding day-to-day machining activity within the team while remaining fully hands-on with CNC work.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce components to production schedules and specifications
- Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software (e.g. Alphacam, Enroute or similar)
- Work closely with the production team to ensure smooth workflow and job prioritisation
- Support coordination of daily machining activities on the shop floor
- Carry out machine maintenance and troubleshooting as required
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet required tolerances and standards
- Support continuous improvement in machining processes and efficiency
- Maintain accurate records for traceability of fire-rated products
- Follow all health & safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
Required Experience & Skills
- Strong experience in CNC programming, setting and operating (mills, routers or similar)
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (Alphacam, Enroute or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently
- Experience with machine troubleshooting and basic maintenance
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in wood manufacturing or similar industry
- Additional CAD/CAM or CNC programming experience
- Experience supporting or guiding others in a workshop setting
- Strong communication and organisational skills
