The post holder is responsible for facilitating the personal and professional development of the nursing staff working in the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Assessment Unit to ensure they are competent and safe practitioners, thus providing a high quality of patient care. The post holder will be responsible for collaborating with nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team within these services and other clinical facilitators in TippUH to ensure the continuous quality improvement of emergency nursing practice, thereby improving patient outcomes.

The Clinical Skills Facilitator CNM2, emergency nursing will assist and support the Nurse Practice Development Coordinator in a systematic approach to assist the nursing teams to examine their practice and identify how it can be improved and be patient/person-centred focused. This will be done through staff development, continuing education programmes, clinical expertise, effective communication, managerial and leadership skills.

A key element of this post is the clinical credibility of the post holder. It is envisaged that the post holder will be acknowledged as an excellent resource to professionals within the Departments.
