CNM, Endoscopy Triage

The purpose of this post is to lead and coordinate triage of GI endoscopy referrals and assign patients to the most clinically appropriate care pathway.

The objective of the role is to avoid unnecessary procedures for patients and to contribute to the efficient use of endoscopy capacity in the hospital.

The CNM2 Endoscopy Triage will work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team providing support to endoscopy unit colleagues and referring clinicians. Through the course of triaging referrals, it may be necessary to contact patients directly.

The post encompasses an educational role ensuring that all endoscopy users are up to date with the current guidelines and algorithms. Data collection is required for presentation at monthly Endoscopy Governance meetings and for the annual review of the service and data reports are sent monthly to HSE Endoscopy programme.

There is a requirement to attend quarterly meetings online with triage colleagues and leads.

The present role on offer is for 6 months fixed term.
