Coffee Shop Supervisor
Salary Range: £23,993 - £25,834 per annum pro rata The Old School House Coffee Shop is an income-generating venture located in Somerton House, adjacent to the Northern Ireland Hospice. This cozy 35-seat café serves high-quality food and beverages in a peaceful setting, welcoming all members of the public. Managed by our Coffee Shop Manager and supported by dedicated Hospice volunteers, we strive to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that embodies the values of the Northern Ireland Hospice. Our mission is to build a strong reputation for exceptional quality and outstanding service.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Coffee Shop Supervisors will help oversee the daily operations of the Old School House Coffee Shop. They will support the Coffee Shop Manager in achieving both financial and social targets set by the Northern Ireland Hospice. It is a rota of 5-hour shifts over 4 days.
Principal Duties • Assisting with the preparation of and the serving of all meals and beverages to customers, ensuring great customer service at all times • Using the EPOS till, serve customers and cash up at the end of service. • Check stock levels and replenish when necessary. • Ensure good knowledge of products on sale and on special offer. • Ensure the café/restaurant is presented to a high standard throughout the day and carry out a thorough cleaning at the end of the day, maintain coffee machines and other equipment to ensure that they remain in good working order at all times. • Ensuring that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy, assisting with waste removal and washing up. • Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed. • Completing any administration as requested including food temperatures, wastage, and cleaning schedules. • Assisting in the effective management of stock and portion control • To raise any issues or customer suggestions and complaints to the Café Manager • Assist with the ordering and deliveries as required. • Undertake the necessary training to ensure the development of self and volunteers on a continuous basis. This will include fully certified barista training. • Ensure that the café’s opening / closing routines are carried out appropriately with regards to agreed times. • Assist with the preparation and implementation of a monthly stock inventory. • Assist in the ongoing training of volunteers. • Ensure that legislative regulations and procedures and NI Hospice policies, with regards to HACCP; food Hygiene regulations; health and safety at work; fire and building management; and security, are adhered to and routinely practiced.
