Communications Advisor
Key Responsibilities
Deliver excellent internal communications activity, which drives staff engagement and ensures that Housing Executive employees are well informed of news and developments across the organisation.
Support the Internal Communications Manager in the delivery and regular evaluation of the organisation’s overarching internal communications plan.
Assist with the Housing Executive’s internal communication channels including the staff intranet (‘huddle’), the staff email service (Workplace Weekly), the annual staff conference, the monthly Chief Executive’s Town Halls and others.
Manage huddle on a day-to-day basis including the creation and editing of content.
Assist with content planning, including researching new content and the prioritising of information on huddle.
Advise and support other teams uploading content to huddle, ensuring consistency in tone and style, and adherence to the usage procedures contained within the system’s Governance Document.
Support the Internal Communications Manager in the delivery of internal communication events to increase staff engagement, including the annual staff conference.
Establish and manage effective working relationships with a range of internal contacts to ensure that all communications activities are relevant, and that information is accurate and up to date.
Liaise with other teams across the organisation, advising them on the best way to communicate clearly and effectively.
Help with other communication activities within the wider Corporate Communications Team, as required.
General
To prepare appropriate business cases, tenders and quotations, in line with financial and procurement regulations, policies and procedures and corporate timescales.
To provide a high level of internal and external customer service, resolving customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion.
To ensure continued and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
To represent the Communications Manager as required.
To undertake the duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of NIHE.
To comply with, and enforce, all NIHE frameworks, policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, those relating to legal requirements such as equality, health and safety and information governance.
To direct and signpost managers and officers to the appropriate source for issues outside the remit of this post.
To undertake project work as directed by the Internal Communications Manager and Senior Communications Manager using the principles of good project management and in line with Housing Executive practice.
To keep up to date with latest developments in internal communications and event management best practice.
To undertake any other duties which may be assigned to meet organisational need and the change agenda and which are reasonably regarded as within the nature of the duties, responsibilities and grade of the post as defined.
To participate as directed in the Housing Executive Resourcing activity in line with Housing Executive Resourcing Policies and Procedures.
