The Central Remedial Clinic (CRC) is at a historic inflection point. Established in 1951, we are evolving from a traditional charity model into a progressive, rights-based, and evidence-led national complex disability service provider. With approximately 400 staff and serving 4,000 people annually, we are a major Section 38 agency operating within a restructured healthcare framework.
With the launch of our 2025–2030 Strategy, Creating Pathways that Empower and Enable, we are seeking a visionary and influential Communications Manager to define our voice on the national stage. This role offers a rare opportunity to lead a full organisational repositioning and shape an integrated communications function from the outset.
We are seeking a high-calibre leader with the experience to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes:
- Senior Communications Track Record: Proven experience in a senior communications role in a challenging, complex environment or market
- Transformation Leadership: Experience leading and managing communications during periods of organisational change or restructuring.
- Media & Public Affairs Expertise: A demonstrated track record in media engagement and narrative building.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Skilled at building and sustaining high-value partnerships across diverse groups including the HSE, Government, and NGOs in partnership with members of the CRC leadership team
- Project & Budget Management: Extensive experience overseeing strategic projects, departmental budgets, and external creative agencies.

The successful candidate must have the following essential requirements:
- Degree-level qualification; communications-related discipline desirable
- Experience in complex markets and organisational situations.
- Strong understanding of the Irish media, healthcare [and political] landscape
- Demonstrated track record in media engagement, national campaigning, narrative-building and issue framing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experienced organisational spokesperson
- Skilled at building and sustaining high-value partnerships across diverse stakeholders including the HSE, Government, disability organisations and NGOs
- Strategic thinker with strong project, budget and team leadership experience
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities effectively
Desirable Criteria
- Familiarity with accessible communication formats (e.g. Easy Read, ISL, alt-media)
- Candidate can demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement through the application of Lean Principles (or similar).
