Location:

Corlann – West Region provide a community based, person centred service focusing on the needs and abilities of children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The vision of the service is to support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve a full and valued life in their community, in line with best practice both nationally and internationally. Working in partnership with each person supported by services, we aim to create opportunities for people supported by services to have ordinary life experiences and to be closely connected to family and friends. We are committed to supporting people to live a life of their choosing.

Beo Adult Services provide a range of community-based servicesincluding day, residential, respite, community outreach, family support and a range of multidisciplinary support services. People are supported in day centres, supported employment, social and micro enterprises, training and education and these can be in groups or individualised. People are supported in residential settings in their own homes in the community individually and in groups. We wish to create opportunities for people who use our services to have valued social roles in their communities and to form friendships.

The Role:

The Community Nurse (CNM1) has a pivotal role in managing the day to day delivery of services. The successful candidate must provide leadership and vision in the development of the service in line with HIQA National Standards, New Directions, Personal Outcomes Measures and participate actively in any future service developments.

Reporting/Responsible To:

Service Coordinator / Area Manager

Qualifications/Experience/Skills:

Ø A current live Register Certificate with NMBI (Bord Altranais) is an essential requirement, RNID/RMHN qualification is desirable.

Ø Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience gained in services for people with intellectual disabilities.

Ø Qualifications in Phlebotomy and Nurse Prescribing are an advantage; a willingness to undertake these courses is desirable.

Ø Experience of working with individuals who have complex medical needs is a requirement of the job.

Ø Experience in a leadership role is desirable.

Ø Candidates should be able to demonstrate direction, communication and team working skills and be a flexible and dynamic individual who will relate to people in a range of situations with an understanding of and commitment to the principles of public accountability as they apply in the health service.

Ø A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads is an essential requirement.

Ø Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.

Working Hours:

· X1 permanent full time = 75 hours per fortnight

37.5 hours per week based on a 7 day duty roster with day, night and weekend cover required for this post.

An On Call responsibility is an essential requirement of the post. This responsibility is shared on a rotational basis across the wider management team, with an allowance provided for undertaking this duty.

Corlann’s model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

Annual Leave:

25 days per annum. Service Related Leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years nursing service.

Remuneration:

Department of Health Clinical Nurse Manager 1 salary scale (01/06/2026) - €57,780 x 7 increments - €68,046 per annum.

Probation:

A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.

Tenure:

There is currently one permanent full time pensionable post available.
