Location/Office Policy: AIB Group, Molesworth Street/Central Park, (Hybrid Working: 3 days in office)

What is the Role:
Compliance Monitoring is a ‘Second Line of Defence’ team led by the Head of Compliance Monitoring (HoM). The team sits within the Compliance function which is led by the Group Chief Compliance Officer and is part of Group Risk.
The Compliance Monitoring team assesses adherence to regulatory obligations through an annual risk‑based Compliance Monitoring Plan, delivering ongoing monitoring to identify non‑compliance and potential regulatory risk.
Key accountabilities;
The purpose of this role is to support the Compliance Monitoring Manager and Head of Compliance Monitoring in delivering high quality, risk-based Compliance Monitoring activities across AIB. Monitoring activities include:
- Delivery of high-quality Compliance Monitoring activities which includes continuous testing, thematic and ad-hoc reviews to test both compliance with regulation/legislation and the delivery of fair customer outcomes.
- Independently lead monitoring reviews as required, including scoping, execution and reporting.
- Consult with the Compliance Advisory Teams in order to ensure that the selection, scope setting and approach to delivering reviews is planned and targeted effectively.
- Complete review planning, taking into consideration regulatory requirements, breaches, complaints, and other relevant information as appropriate.
- Undertake testing; recording testing, findings and agreed actions in accordance with the defined compliance monitoring methodology.
- Ensure that where issues are identified that appropriate mitigating actions are agreed with the business and tracked through to completion.
- Draft formal monitoring reports to note the outcomes of testing and seek formal approval.
- On an ad hoc basis assist the Monitoring Manager and Head of Compliance with tasks such as reporting to committees/boards and other tasks that filter from Compliance Senior Management Team.
- Develop positive and professional working relationships within Risk, Compliance and business area stakeholders.
