Compliance Officer - EHS Officer
Connolly’s Red Mills is a global leader in performance animal nutrition and is looking to add to our team. We are seeking to appoint a Compliance Officer -Environment & Safety. This is an exciting role for a capable and dedicated person who has experience in the area.
The role will report to the Operations Manager and the Quality & Technical Manager.
The role involves working across a number of our sites to ensure compliance with the highest standards of environmental and workplace safety.
The role will involve the following:
Environmental Compliance
Assisting with all aspects of environmental compliance including:
- approvals and registration of premises,
- licence applications,
- compliance requirements and certifications for imports & exports
- Developing relationships with and liaising with the Department of Agriculture, EPA, Kilkenny County Council, and other relevant regulatory authorities.
- Advising management on the journey towards net zero emissions and advising on adoption of environmentally sustainable processes, inputs & technologies across the entire business.
- Assessing, analysing and collating environmental performance data and reporting to management, staff, customers, and regulatory bodies.
- Acting as an environmental best practice champion in the business.
- Keeping up to date with changes in national & international environmental legislation and industry initiatives and advising on relevance to the organization.
- Managing environmental incidences as relevant and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
Safety Management
- Monitor all legal requirements pertaining to business activities and communicate these requirements to company management for review and implementation.
- Developing relationships with and liaising with the Health & Safety Authority (HSA) and all relevant regulatory authorities
- Develop & implement programs and procedures targeted at reducing occupational health risks & workplace accidents.
- Provide advice and assistance to management in the development, implementation, auditing, and improvement of the company safety plan.
- Manage compliance and assist in maintaining certification of systems.
- Ensure that compliance audits of the safety system are carried out.
- Act as a point of contact for staff on health & safety related issues.
- Identify and advise on safety issues in company operations.
- Promote initiatives aimed at improving health & safety standards across the company sites.
- Induction of new employees in safety practices.
- Liaison with external contractors to ensure compliance with company OH & S standards & policies.
- Managing safety incidences as relevant and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
The role involves being based at our Head Office at Goresbridge in Co Kilkenny and will involve travel to our other sites in Co Kilkenny.
Initial and ongoing training and mentoring will be provided.
