The plan is to appoint 1 Consultants in Paediatric Emergency Medicine to have a presence at peak times in the ED to provide senior decision-making ability at those times. In line with the Model of Care, it is envisaged that there will be designated Consultants in Paediatric Emergency Medicine who will have responsibility for the delivery of paediatric emergency care to include guidance and training for managing emergencies, safeguarding children, major incident planning and child death protocols
