Consultant General Physician, MAU Ennis Hospital

The HSE Mid West is currently recruiting for a temporary Consultant General Physician - MAU at Ennis General Hospital

(MAU extended opening)

Specifically, the role is MAU based with a view to facilitating the expansion of MAU opening in the relevant Model 2 Hospital from 8am-8pm to 8am–midnight along with a concomitant NCHD expansion. The last patient appointment time will be 10pm. The consultant will also be expected to form part of the Medicine on call rota on a pro rata basis.

The MAU has close linkages with the Acute Medical Unit in UHL and the other MAU’s in the other hospitals in the Group and is aligned to the National Acute Medical Programme. The majority of patients attending the MAU are discharged with those requiring admission, in general, being admitted to the relevant medical ward. . Those patients who require higher levels of care are transferred to UHL.

***Applicants are required to hold registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the relevant specialty***
