Naas General Hospital is a 243 bedded – acute model 3 public hospital serving the catchment area of Kildare and West-Wicklow with a population of over a quarter of a million people. Our services are designed to meet the needs of the adult population in this catchment area. The majority of hospital activity results from unscheduled inpatient admissions through the Emergency Department (ED). The emergency department is open 24-hours per day 7 days per week all year round. The hospital is owned and managed by the Health Service Executive (HSE) and is part of the Dublin Midlands Hospital Group.

The NGH Microbiology Laboratory is an INAB accredited laboratory that provides a diagnostic service to all patients in NGH and to General Practitioners in the community across a large catchment area. In recent years there has been significant expansion of molecular testing capacity.
