Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
This is a temporary appointment to the Dublin Midlands Hospitals Group on a Public Only Consultants’ Contract 2023 by the Health Service Executive. The initial commitment for this post will be to Regional Hospital, Mullingar for 30 hours per week and National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street 7 hours per week. This post may be subject to restructuring in the future to facilitate the reorganisation of acute services in line with new clinical models of acute and community services. It is noted that the post must be congruent with the requirements of, and facilitate implementation of national health policy, the HSE’s National Clinical Programmes including commitment to deliver the relevant performance outcomes
The post-holder will contribute fully to the functioning of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department at Regional Hospital, Mullingar in all matters including patient care, governance, teaching, resource management and other issues. The post-holder will be responsible for the quality of the delivery of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology service in the hospital. They will also be responsible for ensuring the highest quality response from the service and will function as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary Obstetrics & Gynaecology team in clinical and administrative matters, including clinical audit. This post will have a working weekly commitment of 30 hours at Regional Hospital, Mullingar for the purpose of delivery of Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology services, and 7 hours per week for work relating to Ambulatory Gynaecology at the National Maternity Hospital.
The post holder will work in collaboration with their Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist colleagues in the delivery of Obstetric and Gynaecological service at Regional Hospital Mullingar. The post holder will also work as part of the multi-disciplinary team including NCHD, Midwifery, HSCP and Management Administration colleagues
The post holder may be asked to attend meetings or services in outlying areas and therefore will require access to transport.
