Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong visual instincts, an eye for storytelling, and a passion for youth culture, education, and Irish sport.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute high-impact social media strategies across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X (Twitter), aligned with Ashfield College’s brand and tone.
• Create and edit short-form video content optimised for engagement and virality — from trending challenges to behind-the-scenes student stories.
• Capture authentic moments of daily school life, student achievements, and community events through photography, video, and interviews.
• Work with students, teachers, and alumni to co-create relatable and aspirational stories that resonate with Leaving Cert audiences and their parents.
• Manage content calendars and posting schedules, ensuring consistent tone, frequency, and visual quality.
• Monitor analytics and track performance, using insights to shape future campaigns and identify growth opportunities.
• Support the creation of brochures, flyers, and newsletters with compelling visual and written content.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Manager on brand campaigns, events, PR, and alumni initiatives.
• Be proactive in identifying trends, cultural moments, and social opportunities relevant to Irish secondary students.
• Capture and edit footage at key school events for same-day or next-day posting.
Essential Skills & Experience
• At least one year’s experience in content creation, marketing, communications, or social media management.
• Proven ability to create, film, and edit social-first content (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, Stories).
• Proficiency with mobile editing tools (CapCut, InShot) and/or desktop software (Adobe Creative Suite).
• Excellent understanding of social media algorithms, engagement tactics, and trends.
• Strong visual judgment and understanding of branding, tone, and storytelling.
• Confident communicator who can work naturally with students, teachers, and parents.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• A genuine passion for education, youth culture, and Irish sport.
Desirable
• Experience managing social media for a school, youth organisation, or lifestyle brand.
• Knowledge of paid social advertising (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads) and influencer collaboration.
• Familiarity with analytics and reporting tools (Meta Insights, Google Analytics, etc.).
• Photography/videography experience in fast-paced environments.
• Understanding of SEO, hashtags, and audience segmentation.
Qualifications
A degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.
