Cost & Programme Planner (Construction)

Reporting to the Senior Feasibility Manager, the Cost & Programme Planner (Construction) position is part of the Feasibility & Commercial team within the Store Development Department. The role will broadly support all aspects of construction cost management construction programmes and the ongoing process development. Working closely with Finance and other key stakeholders, the co-ordinator will report on construction CapEx and bring analytical and commercial insights to drive value and performance. The Individual has the opportunity to be part of the new store rollout by developing robust feasibility studies.

  • What You'll Do:

    We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you'll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:

    • Planning and coordinating Store Development Feasibility: Oversee all processes, ensuring timely task completion and business needs are met.
    • Manage Construction Programmes: Produce and communicate construction schedules and new store rollout data effectively.
    • Collaborate and Communicate: Work with teams to improve rollout programmes and manage stakeholder expectations on construction timelines.
    • Financial and Cost Management: Build and update cost data, manage financial reporting, and ensure accurate cost estimates for feasibility studies.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with finance and key stakeholders, collaborate on board papers, and travel for technical appraisals and meetings.

    What you'll bring:

    • 3+ years’ experience working in planning and capex
    • Has contributed to a lively team setting, particularly in relation to Retail, Construction, or Finance.
    • Experience in a construction-related business is advantageous.
    • Possess a high level of financial acumen and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in reporting.
    • Knowledge of programme scheduling and project planning.
    • Action-oriented with the ability to identify and facilitate opportunities for growth, working cross-functionally, not just identifying a problem or solution, but making the change
    • Possess a detailed knowledge of construction procedures and procurement processes (desired not essential)
    • Highly proficient user of all MS applications, in particular Excel, presentations and project management.
